Let’s have a little out-of-the-ordinary discussion… regarding web-services …

Lately I haven’t got enough time to post any interesting news… but today I’m in position to share a nice resource for FileSharing services.

The HostFiles.ro is a new player among the big sharing sites, but the GOOD thing about it (comparing eith rapidshare, hotfile, depostifiles, filesonic …. etc ) is that now (and maybe just for a limited amount of time) is FREE , yes and has a nice limit of 1.1Gb per uploaded file or session. So, feel free to use it, at least wile it’s free… hoping that will last a long time from now on.

If you also find some interesting resources, post them here.

….digital image quality to satisfy the most stringent still life requirements…

In response to market demands to continue the development of DSLR technologies for new applications, Hasselblad today announces the H3DII-39MS, a multi-shot version of the recently announced H3DII-39 DSLR that will deliver digital images of the finest quality for architectural and still life photography. Previously available only on Hasselblad multi-shot digital backs, much of the multi-shot technology in the new H3DII-39MS comes from the extremely popular 39 megapixel Hasselblad CF-39MS digital back. Combining the benefits of the CF-39MS’s multi-shot technology with the full functionality and integration of the H3DII-39 DSLR, the H3DII-39MS completely eliminates the need to interpolate images and enables both single- and multi-shot DSLR capability, giving photographers the ultimate in flexibility and moiré-free image quality.H3DII-39MS users will gain the full benefits of the all the key features of the new H3DII DSLR system, providing outstanding pixel resolution, better colors, and improved detail rendering. Such features include a new RAW converter; Ultra-Focus™, which compensates for minute changes in the plane of focus resulting from changes in aperture; and DAC-Digital Auto Correction™, which offers digital APO correction, digital distortion correction, and now anti-vignetting to deliver for the first time full digital lens correction, when used with Hasselblad HC and HCD lenses. The H3DII-39MS will not be film compatible, but, as with the H3D and H3DII product families, will offer photographers the ability to use the digital magazine, which contains the sensor unit and related technology, on a view camera via an adapter.Christian Poulsen, CEO of Hasselblad, comments: “For more than fifty years, it has been Hasselblad’s mission to enable photographers to create the finest images possible, and it is clear that today the best way to accomplish this is with an integrated DSLR. An integrated system produces the highest image quality, due to the fact it enables the integration of all key components, including the lenses, within the camera system, and in the H3DII also enables features such as Ultra-Focus and DAC-Digital Auto Correction, allowing Hasselblad to offer customers full digital lens correction for the first time ever.

With the H3DII-39MS, in addition to single-shot technology, we’ve included our multi-shot technology to offer professional photographers of still life and architecture a camera system that gives them image quality equal or in many cases superior to anything they’ve experienced before, as well as the functionality, flexibility and ease of use of a digital system.”Further acknowledging the specific demands of film photographers, Hasselblad is also announcing the H2F, a simplified, film-only version of the H2 camera, which it is replacing. By removing the high-end digital imaging technology found in the H2, which is unnecessary for shooting with the film-only H2F, and therefore simplifying the manufacturing process, Hasselblad is able to offer the H2F at a substantially lower price than the H2. The H2F offers full compatibility with H System HV viewfinders, film magazines, and HC lenses.

It is Hasselblad’s strategy to excel in the high-end segment of the photographic market and offer camera systems that deliver the best image quality and the most flexibility. While the company offers the premier DSLR solution with the H3DII product line and will support the legacy of film photography with the H2F camera, market demand does not justify the cost of maintaining the additional manufacturing line for the dual-platform H2. In keeping with its customer-centric modus operandi, Hasselblad will, however, continue to offer service and support for H1 and H2 owners for a minimum of 7 years from date of purchase. Meanwhile, the H3DII, H3DII-39MS and the H2F are being assembled in Copenhagen, Denmark and Gothenburg, Sweden, on new production lines engineered specifically for their unique designs and assembly requirements.

The H3DII-39MS will be available from January 2008 and the H2F from November 2007 worldwide through Hasselblad’s national subsidiaries and channel partners with a retail price of €33,500 for the H3DII-39MS, and €2,100 for the H2F camera body and €6,460 for the H2F camera kit, excluding tax.

An attractive trade-in program has been announced that enables current Hasselblad users, as well as users of third party digital backs, to upgrade to the H3DII system, including the H3DII-39MS.

Nokia today confirmed that until 2007 it has paid less than 3 per cent aggregate license fees on WCDMA handset sales under all its patent license agreements. This number represents Nokia’s aggregate gross royalty payments made under all the numerous patent license agreements applicable to its WCDMA handsets. It excludes infrastructure related royalties and all royalty income collected by Nokia.

The above WCDMA handset related royalty payments made by Nokia include all WCDMA handset royalty payments made to Qualcomm.

From April 9, 2007, Nokia contractually has a fully paid up license covering Qualcomm’s early patents and thus those patents are licensed to Nokia royalty free for its handsets going forward in perpetuity. Therefore Nokia’s licensing agreements with Qualcomm for the future will focus only on the terms for Qualcomm’s newer patents.

Espoo, Finland – Nokia announced today that it has paid Qualcomm USD 20 million for patent licenses covering the second quarter 2007. Nokia and Qualcomm have had patent license agreements since 1992 and Nokia’s obligations to pay license fees under the old agreements partially expire on April 9, 2007. The payment announced today does not extend, and is not related to, the old agreement. Rather, it is based on the licenses that Qualcomm has agreed and provided through the European Telecommunication Standardization Institute (ETSI).

“As we continue to negotiate the new cross-license agreement, Nokia views this payment as fair and reasonable compensation for the use of relevant Qualcomm essential patents in Nokia UMTS handsets during the second quarter of 2007. Nokia believes that Qualcomm’s patent portfolio is concentrated in the United States, and that it has few or no alleged UMTS patents in many of the countries in which Nokia has substantial UMTS handset sales. When Qualcomm’s early patents become paid-up and royalty-free on April 9, 2007 Qualcomm’s share of all patents relevant to Nokia UMTS handsets will significantly decrease”, said Rick Simonson, chief financial officer, Nokia.

Nokia intends to make similar payments in the future and will announce such payments when they are made.

Nokia has until 2007 paid less than 3 per cent cumulative license fees under all of its patent license agreements involving WCDMA products.

Nokia retains the right to ask Qualcomm, and its customers, to respect Nokia’s patents rights. The retained rights have significant value, and Nokia believes it is well positioned to offset any claims Qualcomm may make against Nokia products to claim more money in license fees.<!-- D(["mb","</div\>
<div\> </div\>
<div\>"It is important to note that as of April 9, 2007, Qualcomm's entire chipset business becomes exposed to Nokia's extensive GSM, WCDMA and CDMA patent portfolios and Nokia will use all rights from those portfolios when defending itself against any new Qualcomm litigation", Simonson concluded.</div\>
<div\> </div\>
<div\><b\>About Nokia</b\></div\>
<div\>Nokia is a world leader in mobile communications, driving the growth and sustainability of the broader mobility industry.

Cancellation of treasury shares

Nokia has decided to cancel 169 500 000 shares held by the company. The cancellation of shares does not have an effect on the amount of share capital of the company. Following the cancellation the number of shares in the Company will be 3 925 542 619.

Performance levels in Nokia Performance Share Plans

As previously disclosed, Nokia has a 2007 Equity Program including performance shares, which is offered as the main equity-based incentive under this plan. Performance shares will be settled provided that the Company’s performance reaches the required threshold level measured by two independant performance criteria: average annual net sales growth during the three-year performance period (2007-2009) and earnings per share (‘EPS’) (basic) at the end of the performance period (2009).

Nokia now announces that the threshold level for the average annual net sales growth under the Performance Share Plan 2007 is 9.5% and the maximum level is 20%. The threshold level for the EPS (basic) is EUR 1.26 and the maximum level is EUR 1.86.

As disclosed earlier, the grant of performance shares in 2007 may result in an aggregate maximum payout of 12 million Nokia shares, should the maximum level for both performance criteria be met. Nokia intends to continue to grant performance shares also in 2008-2010 up to a total payout of 36 million Nokia shares.

Nokia Siemens Networks will be consolidated by Nokia as from April 1, 2007. In order to neutralize the expected impact to the Nokia Performance Share Plans of the formation of Nokia Siemens Networks, Nokia has decided to adjust the levels or measurement of the performance criteria of the Performance Share Plans 2004, 2005 and 2006 by adjusting for the one-time increase in the net sales and by excluding the expected one time gains and restructuring costs.

Espoo, Finland – Nokia today announced that it will set up a manufacturing facility for mobile devices in the county of Cluj in Romania. Nokia anticipates investing an estimated EUR 60 million in the Cluj plant, which will be the company’s 11th mobile device production facility globally.

The decision to establish a new factory in Romania is a reflection of Nokia’s strong volume growth globally, as well as the increasing demand for mobile devices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Nokia selected Cluj as the location for the plant because of the county’s availability of skilled labour, its good inbound and outbound logistics connections, its overall efficiency, and the long industrial tradition in the area.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed today in Romania’s capital, Bucharest. At the signing, Raimo Puntala, Senior Vice President for Nokia’s Operations and Logistics, said: ‘As the global market leader for mobile devices, Nokia is committed to ensuring good product availability and smooth deliveries to important markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.’

Nokia’s new facility in Cluj is located about 400 kilometers north-west of Bucharest. The construction work at Cluj will start in spring 2007 and production is expected to begin in the first half of 2008. Nokia foresees ramping up the factory gradually and will recruit approximately 500 employees there by the end of 2007. As part of the plans, Nokia is looking to establish an industrial village in the area, enabling a number of key suppliers and partners to locate their operations there.

Nokia continuously develops its global manufacturing network to increase competitiveness and provide excellent logistics services for its customers. In 2006, the company completed expansions at its Reynosa plant in Mexico and its Dongguan plant in China, and ramped up production at the Chennai plant in India. In Europe, Nokia already has production facilities in Bochum in Germany, Komárom in Hungary and Salo in Finland.

Espoo, Finland – Cyfrowy Polsat, Poland’s largest satellite television broadcaster, is entering the Polish mobile telephony market and has chosen Nokia as its core network supplier. The deal is the first contract in Poland for a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) environment, and includes the industry-leading Nokia mobile softswitch solution, strengthening Nokia’s position as the leading supplier of telecommunications infrastructure in the Polish market.

“Having a strong technology partner is essential when entering a competitive market, such as telecommunications in Poland. Taking into account the rich implementation experience of the local Nokia team, we are convinced that we will manage to complete the project quickly and by the planned market entry date,” said Dominik Libicki, President, Cyfrowy Polsat S.A.

“Nokia is excited to be working with such an innovative company as Cyfrowy Polsat. We believe our technology, as well as our service capabilities, will be a solid foundation for Cyfrowy Polsat to grow its business. We look forward to further co-operation with Cyfrowy Polsat as its business evolves,” said Olof Henricsson, Vice-President for Central Europea, Networks, Nokia.

Cyfrowy Polsat is Poland’s largest satellite platform in Poland with over 1,000,000 subscribers as well as hundreds of TV and radio channels in its portfolio. Growing all the time, the platform offers new channels, high-tech set-top-boxes and additional services based on high-tech technologies; for example, it pioneered in introducing set-top-boxes with a hard disk (DVR).
